Innovative holographic code to ensure the authenticity of products

Project no.: TPP-04-039
Project website: https://mita.lrv.lt/uploads/mita/documents/files/TPP_Skirtas%20finansavimas.pdf

Project description:

Our idea is to develop and market an innovative product/code and its IT identification system with a high level of security. Counterfeiting and piracy account for €83 billion in losses in the EU every year. With the rapid development of technology, even the very means of securing documents and goods have started to be counterfeited. The global anti-counterfeiting market is projected to grow from $106.3 billion in 2020 to $188.2 billion in 2025, due to the increasing focus of manufacturers on protecting their brand.
Our product offering is a new generation of holographic – a diffractive code of 2D-3D images and combinations of images, identified by a dedicated IT recognition system. A comprehensive technology and software solutions for hologram formation with integrated diffractive optical elements will be developed and marketed.

Project funding:

The state budget of the Republic of Lithuania

Project results:

The project is expected to deliver a result corresponding to stage 7 of the R & D milestones classification: a new generation of integrated security system mark (prototype) for product identification and authentication will be developed by combining a diffraction code identified by an IT recognition system with optical security measures. By selecting the optimum sphericity, angularity and phase parameters of the laser optical beams, a holographic mark with the appropriate complexity for complex protection will be formed. The performance of the developed system will be tested and demonstrated in a realistic operating environment. Such a system will allow effective protection of the authenticity of the products and automatic identification of these products and assessment of the originality of the hologram.
